People often ask me, “how can i use foursquare to drive sales?”.
Well, I think if a burger joint can do it, so can you.
A couple of months ago Jennifer van grove wrote a good post on mashable showing how Starbucks offers $1 discounts to store mayors, encouraging it’s customer base to “check in” more often. Yesterday Dan Butcher from mobile commerce daily announced that Chillis , with 1,499 locations in 30 countries provides Foursquare subscribers who check in at Chili’s restaurants with a free order of chips and salsa.
How it works is when a potential consumer is within 300 meters, participating stores are marked with a special offer flag. Nicole Cochran, director of marketing at Chili’s said “our Foursquare offer is a unique way to leverage mobile marketing that is current and relevant. Chili’s has a strong base of social media followers, ,We also utilize our bloggers and advocate program to help promote this offer and encourage Foursquare’s users to take advantage of the deal.” So, there you have it, Foursquare is as simple as Coffee, Chips and Salsa. I’d love to hear your success stories (and failures) in using Foursquare. Read more at Switched on Media.
